About SourceCompass

SourceCompass is a small sourcing team based in Shanghai, two hours from Yiwu by high-speed train. We work for buyers only. It is the Yiwu desk of Mostar Technology (蘑星科技), a Shanghai AI company that also runs a China sourcing practice for larger factory projects.

Before taking orders we built our own database of Yiwu-area suppliers, because we wanted every recommendation to rest on data you can check, not on whichever booth pays the best rebate. As of 2026-10-28 it holds 3,734 suppliers — 1,548 with booths in Yiwu International Trade City and 2,184 wholesale sellers on 1688 — and 8,536 of their listings with price and MOQ. 316 have been checked against China’s business registry so far, and the database grows every day.

How we work

• Buyer side only. Suppliers pay us nothing, so we have no reason to prefer one.
• Everything in the open. Supplier names, booth numbers, the supplier’s own quotation, and our fee on its own line.
• Small promises we keep. A reply within one business day, a shortlist within two working days, and a check in Yiwu before you pay the balance.
• We say no. No chemicals, no unlicensed brands or characters, no electrical, children’s or food-contact products without valid test reports.

Who you deal with

The same people who search the database, talk to suppliers in Chinese and go to the market in Yiwu when an order needs eyes on it. We reply within one business day (Beijing time, Mon–Fri). Email: [email protected].
